In Flamsteed's Atlas Coelestis (a nice digital version of which is available here: http://www.univie.ac.at/hwastro/), it shows Andromeda with arms outstrectched like in the picture. Could this be a depiction of Andromeda and Pisces, and the 'A' represent M31?
