Ah ah! You've got it! That was the idea behind the Celestron Firstscope
80, when it was introduced back in the 80's. Easy to use and you can see a
lot with an 80mm if you take the time to look.
My most common scopes (for "Flash Astronomy" per the most recent S&T) are an
80mm Orion " semi-apo" on a photo tripod, an 80mm FL vixen refractor
piggyback on my coulter 17.5" and a 100mm vixen fluorite - despite having
much bigger scopes.
