Dear Friends:
I have always been fascinated by pictures of bizarrely shaped
colliding peculiar galaxies first brought to our attention in the
1960s by Halton Arp, then at Palomar. Here's a collection of these,
stunningly portrayed by the HST.

Arp's original atlas has also been republished by Wilmann-Bell.

The original is a highly valued collector's item. All the pictures
from these northern galaxies can also be found at:

He has also published a 2 volume atlas and catalogue of southern
peculiar galaxies which can be found in used book sites such as
www.bookfinder.com. The photos and the catalogue can also be found at
the above Caltech site. Click under catalogues on the lower right.
