I think I'm beginning to understand that it's a Canadian thing, this search
for certainty in a very uncertain world. All this CSC stuff is the mind
candy of a Canadian in the first place. The Canadian formerly known as Moody
and now known as Deep and Random is a nut for certainty. And here's the
Reliably Genial Canadian asking poor Peter and me to make such predictions.

a) there's this fire going on, we don't know when it's going to be out.
b) winds have been shifting around a big section of the compass, as Peter
mentioned.
c) now for a fact, the forecast for the weekend on NWS does suck, with over
70% cloud cover predicted. 20% chance of thundershowers predicted Saturday
and Sunday nights, which means a high cloud deck.

... and I am all, so what? Three-day weekend, very late moonrise that's
actually certain, I'm gonna head to the Peak to see what it's like up there.
Odds of lightning strikes on the SW lot are vanishingly small. In other
weather news, yup we're under thick marine layer still here. Watsonville
schools are closed today, pity poor me. The supe had to make a decision
yesterday afternoon, and air conditions in Watsonville yesterday really were
epic, raining ash thru a lot of the day, air often badly acrid.

Seriously, for what it's worth I'm definitely heading to the Peak tomorrow
afternoon, take a fun hike at the very least. Ranger Derek says the
campgrounds are full, so Coulter won't be so hot on account of lights. SW
lot will be dark, one way or another!

Cheers, TACos, everyone have a shamefully fun weekend,
DDK
