a /good/ 5mW, such as the Wicked Laser "Core" I have, is plenty
bright. anything more would compromise night vision at a dark site.
This one was about $50. You have to look hard to find the "Core" on
Wicked's site, they want to sell you more powerful, more expensive ones.

my 5mW is significantly brighter than some of the other "5mW" lasers
I've seen, I've been told they really ARE 5mW while others are exaggerated.

note, btw, the really cheap ones you'll find on eBay etc often are
missing the infrared filters, and emit a seriously dangerous amount of
IR. the invisible back scatter from this could damage your dark
adjusted eyes.
