Michelle,
Not to change the topic from my original question to a "was it a good
idea or not to ask" but notice I said "I've read the TAC wiki about
batteries [...] but I'm still not sure [...]" :-)
Notice also I said "I noticed that when this issue surfaces in the list
many ppl go here we go again" so at least you cannot blame me I did my
homework first :-) Did you do your homework by reading my message first
before pointing at the wiki? :-)
I wouldn't (didn't) ask about this when I had to face the problem and
get my own battery for my nighty outings. Needing a battery for a night
is a too-common thing and I also agree that's why the wiki page is
there, but as Mark says, this seemed a bit of a special case, and I
second the suggestion of adding a "Batteries for Star Parties" section
to the wiki (or even how to deal with power at any event's pages).
Peter Santangeli and Peter Natscher's answers already helped me a great
deal besides what's in the wiki, so I'm glad I asked :-)
Regards,
Rogelio
