I'd be surprised if the Aborigines weren't aware of it.
Historically over the past few hundred years, "discovered" means a White Man of European origin finally figured out that it was there and put it in a book or map and usually named it after himself or the King or the Queen that financed his trip. Obviously the natives of the Americas knew they were there prior to Columbus "discovering" them.
But if this particular crater was common knowledge, I'd expect it to have a name along the lines of "Bollinger crater" etc.
