there's some spots along Alpine and Pescadero Rds that have good western
views and are in very rural areas, likely quite dark. Can't say I've
tried to observe from up there, but it might be a nice area to check out
for the truly adventurous. its west of the skyline ridge so that
should shield the worst of the SFBA light dome
