Likewise Peter,
We were observing from Mt. Diablo before the clouds rolled in. The image
was reasonable at 300x and it was a great view of Syrtis Major.

We observed Mars last Saturday night I with my 10² Mak-Cass and David
Cooper with his A-P 155. Itıs only 8 arc-sec in diameter now. We each saw
very noticeable Syrtis Major on the meridian and a white North Polar Cap.
