I've built a number of things, including:

    1. A lighted map holder, designed to hold a 3-ring binder with charts; it had a multi-directional head which held a red led flashlight
(I think Paul LeFevre has an image of it on his website.....or did). It's currently on indefinite loan to Konstellation Kitty.
    2. A red-light bar (2 versions) to illuminate my laptop keyboard.
    3. A framed redscreen for my laptop.
    4. I bought an equatorial platform, then rebuilt it to make it run longer during a cycle (from about 42 minutes to just over 60).
    5. A 'tower' dob mount for my ST-120 refractor and my C5; the two OTA's are interchangeable in seconds.
    6. Dob cradles for the above OTA's.
    7. Carrying cases for the above OTA's.
    8. A riser for the above dob mount, since I didn't want the mount itself to be too tall and unwieldly balance-wise.
    9. A simple table for my laptop which sits atop a folding store-bought table; it's just the right height for me when standing.
  10. Clip-on walls for my shade canopy (well, that's for daytime use, but still.....).

And last but not least:

  11. A rather extensive software application (for data entry and multiple inquiries) to keep track of my observations as they occur,
         written in Access.

Jim ..... :-)

I thought it might be fun to have an ATM/Gadget discussion.? Other than a telescope, what have you built to aid or improve your night out observing?
