Congrats Mark. That should be a fantastic scope. My friend's Starmaster produces excellent views. We compared his 14" to some other 18" scopes, and it looked like his scope gave better images. He loves it a lot.

We better get out this coming new moon for some observing while we have a chance. It could be a while before the skies clear again!

In about a month I take delivery on the new StarMaster 18" f/3.7 and I
see Peter is going even larger with the f/3.7.
Picked up the (required) ParaCorr already and also a 3.5mm type6 Nagler
for just under 500x power push where atmosphere will be the limiting
factor and not the mirror.

The eyepiece will always be within my standing height. StarMaster (Rick)
will not let slip who is making the mirror but in long talks with Rick I
have been assured it will be a mirror standing up to the quality
demanded by StarMaster and has been made by someone known for quality
mirrors.

Mirror is done and now but the cold back in Kansas has put a damper on
final construction. I expect it to ship within 1 month.

I will apologize now up front for the nasty weather we will have next
month ... (knock on wood)
