The Hogue park events are a great way to get people started. When one
is just starting it is a fine location. Astronomy has that classic
tradeoff of good skies vs convenience. Hogue park leans towards the
easy path to make it easy for people to get going and when those people
get into the hobby they are off and running and go off to the dark
sites. I bet there are a lot of people who may not have even got the
fire started without friendly neighborhood events with easy access.
Wish I had had something like Hogue park when I was just starting out in
High school.
Plus the swap meets are there as well for the established (hooked) croud.
Thanks for the efforts SJAA
