OK, I'll bite...
Top Dogs:
Either of my 2 Takahashi refractors (Sky 90 II, ~$2400; FS60C, ~$600)
TeleVue NP-101 APO refractor (~$3600)
AP900GTO mount (sorry, AP hasn't tumbled as far as I'm concerned when it
comes to mounts, for the size, weight, and cost this is as good as it
gets...~$6,400)
Mirrors from Discovery Telescopes (best value for the price, IMHO...my
new
10" f/4.5 was under $700 and star tests like a $2000 mirror)
CCD Cameras from StarlightXpress (a category Mark neglected...)
TeleVue 4X PowerMate (superb quality for imaging planets!)
10" Mirror Cell from Compact Precision Telescopes
Crayford Focuser from Moonlight Instruments
Any of the telescopes & accessories I made myself... ;-)
Dead Dogs:
JMI Crayford Focuser (I know many people like 'em, mine was never as
smooth as it should be, and broke several times. The moonlight, same
price, is a better-built focuser)
Meade LXD-55 mount
Can't really think of any more Dead Dogs...must be lucky!
I've had some equipment that was only "fair" instead of outstanding, but
nothing else so awful it could be fit into the DD category.
