You could host a starparty...a number of the TACo's come out and bring
telescopes to share views with others.

The Lyonids meteor shower is happening in Nov - it's a good way to check out
a phenomenon without equipment - just the organic orbs ;-)

San Francisco Sidewalk Astronomers hold sidewalk astronomy events. The San
Jose Astronomical Association as well as numerous other clubs around the Bay
Area have public nights...check the TAC page for a list of clubs and their
URL's to check out their calendars.
