Cap'n Mark, you gotta rtfm. I posted a reminder of Peak access
instructions on this very list midweek.

For any of our regular sites, on the TAC main page follow the link
for <Observing Sites>. Latest info.
A whole chunk of the Peak is open to anyone, i.e., the SW lot and
Coulter Row. Nice spots. I'm headed for the SW lot tomorrow night.
For that you just e-mail the rangers with intent, including vehicle
type and plate.

Pay the iron ranger your 4 bucks and you're golden.
(And yes the Park did re-open on 1 March for general nighttime use
after the long wet winter.)
The FPOA area is behind the gate on the eastern side of the Park. A
bunch of us think FPOA membership is eminently worth it. And you're
right, the membership form is right now 404. What you do is e-mail
<ron.dammann@No-Spam> He's very helpful and will get you the forms
and details. It's not complicated.
[Editorial moment] ...
>but I think I need a membership in FPOA to even show up.
Now when you say that it brings up an important point. There has been
a lot of obfuscation and noise on that point (major understatement).
With the BP in Chile I have a quiet little window of opportunity
here. You did the smart thing by asking, Mark. Again, we work on
keeping the <Observing Sites> page current. Good to check for facts.
Spring fever is rampant at our public schools. Waaaay too much talk
about the beach.
The Peak tomorrow!!!
Big fun to all!
