Those were fun times!

My advice for seeing the Jumping Star is get a really rickety Dob, point
it at NGC 2362, tap the scope and watch the show.

BTW... Tau CMa was (is?)thought to be the most energetic know star. And,
part of a very cool cluster! Read your Burnham's!
