You three will have many of us drooling to the point of dehydration
for a good while now. What a trip, love the pics, plus the erotic
descriptions of the Homunculus, the LMC, those layered hills. Glad
you 3 had so much fun.

Regarding N/S, on the one hand I remind myself that our solar system
doesn't orbit around our star in the plane of the galaxy, but at
almost 90 degrees to it. And the southern hemisphere of the planet is
aimed inward. So we have reason to drool.

On the other hand, under the grass is greener label, Andy Murrell's
buddy, whose name eludes me, wrote a long observing log in Amateur
Astronomy years ago about a trip to the States. He was gahgah over
seeing the whole Big Dipper up in the sky. And they tell themselves
tales over their campfires of the Andromeda Galaxy being high in the
sky. Also about these wonders called the Whirlpool and the Double
Cluster. We can't feel too bad. And Polaris is actually legendary.

Really do want to stare at the LMC, though.
