I have run into it before. Particularly, where all that shows is a star,
and it will show as Non-stellar in the info dialogue box (you showed me
that in 1997 at Fiddletown)... the odd thing here, on this object, is that
TheSky not only shows the mag 9.3 star (mistakenly), it also shows the
galaxy in the same position. When I finally decided to stop looking for
the bright star at that position, the galaxy showed itself!
