call the midpeninsula regional open space district HQ in los altos
and tell the nice folks you would like an user permit for astronomy at MB.
Unless things have changed, they'll patch you through to Kathleen Hart,
or her answering machine, and after answering a few questions, you'll
have a permit in you snail mail box in a day or two. Be sure to have your
auto license plate number handy.
I don't have their number handy, but it's easy enough to find through
directory assistance.
