Albert:

I'd love to, but I'm already committed to do a star party for a group of high-schoolers
at Pinnacles NM that night (an annual event with this group).

Clear skies (for all of us)!

Subject: [TAC] Reminder: Volunteers needed for Pacheco Star Party,Saturday April 16

This is a reminder for the public Star Party at Pacheco State Park on
Saturday, April 16. A few people have volunteered, but I'd feel more
comfortable if we had a couple more scopes. Please let me know if you can
make it. I'm leaving tonight for Australia, so I may not respond to your
e-mails until I get back - two days before the star party.

As many of you know, public attendance at these star parties has been light.
The coordinator, Jennifer, is planning a large advertising campaign to
attract more people this year. The star party will be advertised in local
newspapers and the California State Parks Newsletter. In addition, she will
be sending flyers to over a thousand fourth graders. Finally, she will
advertise the star party at their Wildflower Day, two weeks before. We're
  anticipating a healthy turn out.

The official time for the public is from sunset to 11PM. If you would like
to participate, please contact me off list.

For those who don't know where Pacheco is, it is east out of Gilroy, at the
top of Pacheco Pass along HWY 152 (the same turn-off as Dinosaur Point).
Turn right into the parking lot a few hundred yards from HWY 152. Anyone
bringing a telescope for the star party does not have to pay the usual fee.

  Thanks.
  Albert
