  That 6:10 UT translates to 11:10 PDT. Is your 24 deg elevation for 10
PST or PDT? I don't know the position of the comet.

  For 10:10 standard time, the sun is 23 degrees down.
  For 10:10 summer time, the sun is 16 degrees down.

  So it's adequately dark in either case.
