Peter Natscher just went ...
>You can always observe at the SW Parking Lot up at the Peak by
>notifying the CA Parks rangers about your Observing Intent 24 hrs.
>ahead of time, like the rest of us are doing. Go to:
>Observers.org/Observing Sites/Fremont Peak links and use those
>contact email addresses to notify the rangers. That's all!
and Bruce Jensen came on ...
>So, then, I have a question - does every individual have to notify
>the ranger 24 hours prior, or does the ranger just need to know if
>someone will be there? Having each person call or e-mail seems just

>>>>>> ... 48 not 24 .......
OK, you mugs, why did I go and post a note this morning with all the
details laid out, with a new subject line for clarity. My note is
exactly 5 in front of yours, Peter, in today's queue. Plus I posted
on this per Stuart's request on Wednesday
http://observers.org/tac.mailing.list/2005/Mar/0202.html
earlier was ...

a) it's not 24 hours notice, it's 48. The TAC Observing Sites page as
cited has it right.
b) the links you mention, Mr Natscher my good friend, don't go to any
e-mail addresses. The rangers' addresses are in that note from this
morning, and the earlier one.
c) Bruce, I think the same thing but the rangers don't. They want to
hear from each person. And they come up from SJB with a list of who
called and e-mailed in, checking vehicles. They really are still
working off the trauma of the Mars opposition, when the mountain was
a zoo.
Like Tips says, they're the rangers. A little courtesy gives us gate mojo.
Plus you might as well take ole DDK off your killfile <g>
