I brought an image for SN 2005am to the SW lot. This Type Ia
supernova was discovered 2/22, is currently at about mag 13.5 (still
rising), and was visible Saturday as the brighter member of what
looked like a double star in the outskirts of NGC2811.
This site;
http://www.supernovae.net/snimages/index.html
has useful details and images for this and other recently discovered
supernovae. I check the supernovae site before heading out for
observing from a dark site to see if there are any interesting new
targets.
