sadly, in this day and age of paranoia, folks can't just be hanging out in the
dark on public lands late at night, unless the responsible authorities know
about it and approve. a gathering on a dark remote area in the greater bay
area could be to easily be a bunch of rowdies having a party, and that wouldn't
be prudent. might be terrorists or something too, ya never know!
Anyways, seems to me that said authorities have generally been pretty accomodating.
