I'll be there all week with some friend from my old club in New Orleans. We'll be on the upper field. Come on by. As for overall sharing, anyone there will be more than willing to let you look through their scope(s). Most folks are eager to wander around and see what toys other people have brought. Since there are 3 observing fields and attendance is usually in the 500 + range, you will have no problems.

I considered doing what you are planning, but due to the horrible SFB area weather and the fact that I am undergoing the astronomy DT's since moving here in the Fall, I decided to make the drive. Most of my time will be imaging (35mm) and putting my new STV through its paces. My three scopes will be an 8" LX200GPS (for astrophotography), and Orion 120st, and a cheap Meade 60mm refractor (to finish my Messier list with). Others in my group will have a 12" Dob from Orion, a 14.5 Starmaster, and a 17.5 truss tube.

I'll be spending a lot of time catching up with old friends, but come on by when you get there. One piece of advice, bring a chair of some sort. Those folding ones are Walmart work great. You'll definately want somewhere to sit at night. Also, a pair of small binos might be good to bring too. you can complete the bino observing list and earn a "pin" from TSP. Hey, it is all about the pins!

Hello TACo's. I'm considering attending maybe the last half of the
Texas Star Party, traveling light, flying into El Paso, bringing very
little of my own equipment. I don't have a travel scope and there will
already be so much equipment there. Will Lone Star Sharing work?
