Well the Sun shown for about 20 minutes this evening so I had short session
with the Coronado PST. I was impressed with the scope immediately.
Using the “Tuner” I was able to see very nice Prominences all around the
disk. A very large one was located at about 4 o’clock. Also seen, after
rotating the tuner, was a very long curving filament in the center of the
disk. As I rotated the tuner more I would see hints of plage then finally
sunspots. And all this with mediocre seeing!
I think this puppy will follow me to work tomorrow. :-)
Boy,if I can get my Binoviewer to work...
