    I'm happy to report that I have heard from Don Clement in southern
    California. He has been staying with family after being evacuated from him
    home at Running Springs. From Don:

    "It appears that Running Springs is OK due to heroic efforts of our
    firefighters. I don't think we will be able to get back for a while."
