There was a category X11 coronal mass ejection a couple of hours ago.
They're speculating that the particle wavefront could be here on
Halloween. Could make for an eerie Halloween for the kiddies!

BTW, if any of you are MacOS X users, you should download and install
Solscape X. It's a simple but nice little program dedicated to
downloading solar and earth satellite imagery, including various
wavelength images of the sun from SOHO, aurora images (if available), a
lot of solar weather data, and GOES satellite images of the earth in
visible, IR, and "water vapor" frequencies. Very nice! You can download
