    That might be useful in that the standard weight (at least for the EM-10)
    is essentially 4kg, a bit under nine pounds. It serves most purposes
    pretty well, but when you want to overstress the mount or move the weight
    closer to the head, a bit more would be nice. But not twice as much.

    However, at least on the smaller mounts (especially the EM-10) the
    counterweight shaft is both flimsy and too long. I think there might be
    (overall) more interest in a GP-diameter/length counterweight shaft
    threaded for the Taks.
            Another problem with the taks is the threads on the head tend to
    wear -- I have no cure for that. At least on my older EM-10, they did not
    use the finest aluminum. I should probably just get a sleeve put in that
    would work with the Vixen shaft, which has a _much_ larger thread and
    seems quite a bit stronger.
