a different kind of Gulf

    Here is the Gulf Region in NGC7000 in a way you perhaps have never seen it. I imaged NGC7000 through Ha and OIII filters last night. I ran out of dark for my SII filter. So I will first post the Ha/OIII combo. I used Ha for Red and OIII for both Green and Blue.

    There is some striking detail in this. The image is a bit noiser than I'd like, having been shot as three exposures of a half hour each through both of the filters. These were binned 1x1 so I think a bit more exposure would have been nice.

    This is the first light image through my new (to me) Traveller. I used the AP 0.75x telecompressor on it to give me a 457.5 mm focal length at a speedy f/4.5.
