One needs to compare those prices to the other scopes that are readily
available to European consumers, not market price in northern California,
where every third garage has a partly finished dob in it. The pricing is in
    pounds for a reason.

Well, not quite, Jeff. The pyrex mirror version of the new Teleports
comes in at a modest $8200. That's not a Zamboni mirror either. Now, the
zerodur primary and quartz secondary version of the 14.5 goes for $11500...
you're under 1/2 that price, but you ain't got the zerodur going for you.

For those who want to know the US dollar converted prices:

              With pyrex With zerodur
      7" $4499 $5726
      10" $6135 $8180
      14.5" $8180 $11452

Those prices certainly increase the amortized cost per photon!
