I'd like to thank all of the people who responded to my request for
info on finding lead weights.
The winning suggestion came from Richard Navarette, who suggested
I look for a box of BB's at the local K-Mart.
I stopped at K-Mart on the way home from work and bought a box of
BB's and a package of Ziploc bags. I calcluated how much weight
I needed to offset the finders (3 pounds) and filled two
Ziploc bags with the BB's. Stuck velcro to the outside of the bags and
stuck them in the space between the tube and the bottom of the tube
box. Works like a champ.
You're a great bunch of people, and helpful to boot. I plan to be
at Fremont Peak this Saturday, with a red 10" Sonotube Dobson.
