Sad day indeed.
Willie McCool, STS-107 Pilot on his first mission, 41, a commander in
the U.S. Navy, AND former test pilot prior to the mission, was one of my
customers.
He called and asked me to send some Apollo "Earth from Space" images to
his friends for Christmas. Said he would never himself see Earth from so
far away as those Apollo guys. His orbit would be too low.
