There were 4 or 5 of us up at the peak in the SW lot, and I have but one
    thing to say...

    BRRRRRRR!

It was about 28 degrees for much of the night. I discovered a few things
about my Toyota van last night:

    - Coming up the hill I was pleased to discover that the traction control
worked, as I saw it ratcheting as I drove over the ice on the road.

    - At the end of the evening I was less happy to discover that the battery
really isn't that great in those temperatures. After running just a couple
of things off it all night, I went to start the truck, and bzzzzzz (imaging
    a game-show buzzer) - nothing there.

Thanks to the person (I'm sorry, I don't think I got your name!) that proved
that those little 9amp car-jumper batteries so many of us use to power our
gear actually serve another purpose! They can jump a car!

The night was pretty clear, with just a bit of crud over the valley below.
There was little dew (I turned off my heater eventually). Considering the
moon, it was quite dark with obvious milky way. I think Peter N found it to
    be Mag 6.5!

    Pete
