    I just called the CLP Office at (408) 842-7800 (park office).
    The _recording_ said the road to the boat launch was closed
    M-F, but was open weekends.

    My read, is that astronomy at the paved boat launch area is
    alive and well, but, alas, I'd feel better if a live breathing
    ranger could verify.

    Considering the cold and wet, maybe CLP offers a better
    alternative to FP: Paved and lower elevation.
