This may be what you want
    http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/Monterey/climate.html
    look under the airport section

     http://www.crh.noaa.gov/dtx/interpret.htm

Unfortunately NWS does not maintain minutes of sunshine stats for the bay
    area.

On just a gross "what kind of day" basis:

For example for SJC in December 2003

    CLEAR (SCALE 0-3) 1
    PTCLDY (SCALE 4-7) 10
    CLOUDY (SCALE 8-10) 14

    November 2003
    CLEAR (SCALE 0-3) 9
    PTCLDY (SCALE 4-7) 13
    CLOUDY (SCALE 8-10) 8

    October 2003
    CLEAR (SCALE 0-3) 18
    PTCLDY (SCALE 4-7) 12
    CLOUDY (SCALE 8-10) 1

    December 2002
    CLEAR (SCALE 0-3) 8
    PTCLDY (SCALE 4-7) 12
    CLOUDY (SCALE 8-10) 11

    November 2002
    CLEAR (SCALE 0-3) 7
    PTCLDY (SCALE 4-7) 18
    CLOUDY (SCALE 8-10) 5
