We really should have an astro party. The Jolitz Family would be willing to host it.
But how about waiting until after the holidays?
That way, everyone would be able to:
1. show off their new eyepieces, scopes, and filters that they got as gifties,
2. recover from the incredibly intense after-Christmas bargain snark hunts, and
3. avoid getting/spreading the flu.
How does the weekend of January 17-18th look for most folks? The 19th (Monday) is a holiday. When the weather is good, we have great sky (if not, just eat and talk). You get about a month to recover from indulgence and get working all the new astro loot.
Of course, we often get snow at this time. You can never predict the weather...
