Hi all: According to my "quick look" astro software "Cartes du Ciel," this
Saturday, 12/13, the great obliterator will not rear it's head over the
south eastern ridge at MB until about 9:25PM. About that time, M42, the
Great Orion Nebula, will be 30 degrees above the horizon and Saturn will be
35 degrees above the horizon. Those two objects were very instrumental in
getting me into amateur astronomy. Wish I focus a scope in on them.
What's with this confounded weather? I think Min, the great Egyptian God of
the sky, has a beef with us. A sacrifice may be in order. Casey
