I thought I was skunked but it turned into a nice evening.
As I had stated in a previous message the sky here (Almaden Valley) was
clear at 8:00 when I setup my scope but clouded over at 9:00. I went out to
put away the scope around 9:30 and was surprised that it was clear again,
not a cloud visible in any direction. The seeing was better than normal and
the LM from my backyard was 5.8 (6 stars in Virgo triangle 10) which is the
best I've ever had (it's normally 5.0).
So I spent the time finishing off 11 Herchel 400 galaxies I had left in Leo.
Just after I found the last two glaxies my laptop battery died. I went in to
get another and during the process the clouds rolled back in, the time was
1:00am.
