This is somewhat off-topic; but it was observing related.
Last night I dreamt that I was variable star observing with my 10" dob and was suddenly unable to see any 7th magnitude stars. I
could see 4th, 5th and 6th magnitude just fine; and I had no trouble seeing 8th and 9th magnitude. But, all the 7th magnitude stars
were GONE!
I was really freaking out in my dream and I methodically came to the conclusion that it had something to do with the Windows XP
laptop I was using as digital setting circles. In the dream, I called my brother (who works for Microsoft) and he immediatly told
me that it was a known bug and that I needed to edit the registry to bring back the 7th magnitude stars!
I think I'm working too hard.....
