I've had very good success with CSC as long as I remember the following two
things.
1) The CSC has a resolution of 3 hours so if I see adjacent blocks with a
big change then that indicates that it will not be quite as accurate and
that I should adjust my viewing time to the beginning or end of the time
increment as appropriate to insure clear skys
2) The are covered by CSC is a fairly small area, it's a single pixel area
on the source map which if I recall correctly is well under a 10 mile area
(I tried to find it on the web just now but no joy). Since I'm more than 10
miles away from the San Jose CSC that I use and since I'm in a valley
(Almaden) if I want more accuaracy I need to look at more than one location,
so I will compare San Jose, Houge, Henry Coe, and Coyote. By looking at all
of these I tend to be able to predict a little better what conditions are
going to be in my backyard.

Subject: [TAC] Clear Sky Clocks and reality...
It is interesting to compare the two...
From my window it is almost entirely cloudy.
Look at the CSC:

I know some of the Sacto gang got skunked up at Blue Canyon on a night the
CSC said would be good, last moth... has *anyone* had consistantly good
success with CSC?
BTW.... Jamie.... I hope you recover the van in like-was condition, and the
jerks serve some time.
