In response to my inquiry on the subject of lens cleaning, Celestron TechSup
sez:

I am assuming you are referring to the eyepieces, if so I have used MC lens
cleaner from a local camera shop that is safe on Multi Coated optics. That
link you sent sounds risky.

 =================== QUESTION ===================
 Issue: I'm concerned about cleaning optics. I have seen the distilled
water/isopropyl alcohol/dish soap formual for the corrector plate, but what
about lenses? I understand that cleaning them is hazardous to begin with,
but when it finally becomes necessary, what's the right formula to use to
avoid damage to coatings? There is a reference on the TAC website at
http://observers.org/cleaning.optics.html
that looks good to me.

Thanks!!
