Acetone as a Final Rinse

Peter,

As a reference, Roland Christen of Astro-Physics says that standard hardware
store brand Acetone (i.e., Ace Hardware) will work just fine on telescope
optics as a final rinse after a distilled water and soap wash. No need to
spend $$$ to buy 'laboratory grade' Acetone. Use Acetone in a well
ventilated area, it evaporates fast and the fumes aren't healthy for you. I
use Acetone to final rise my optics outdoors, only.
