montebello and next weekend

I was only there once, by myself on a Friday night and I am sure others will
fill in the blanks. Considering bay area traffic, it may be a little bit of
a drive to get there for you, but not too bad. I like the site alot and was
surprised at how dark the southern sky was. The ranger expects TAC on
Wednesdays and there will usually be someone there with a permit. (I have
one, as do many others) On other days they like to have 24 hrs notice but I
was up on a Friday without any notice and didn't get any hassle.
