Software Settings

This web-page is set up to allow individuals to share their planetarium program software settings. We will archive settings for any programs here, PC or Mac, or other. Aside from program settings, this page can also contain files for unique observing targets in individual constellations (such as, all Hershel objects in Pegasus), or files derived from certain databases. There are really no rules regarding content, just as long as it is somethng you use, that could be useful to others.

To submit settings for inclusion on this page, send them to:

Zip of Stuff the file, and make sure to inlcude a text page describing what your setting provide, and what software (name and platform) it is for.

Abell.ncl - all 79+ Abell planetary nebulas
Caldwell.ncl - all the Caldwell objects
Her400.ncl - the Hershcel 400 list of objects
Herii.ncl - the Rose City Astronomers Herschel II 400 list
Hickson.ncl - the Hickson 100 list of compact galaxies
Pal.ncl - the Palomar globular cluster list
Terzan.ncl - the Terzan globular clusters
Dimstuff.ncl - for the true deep sky afficianado! Contains the Abell
Planetaries, the Palomar Globulars, the Terzan Globulars and the Hickson 100!

By unzipping these files into your main Megastar directory, one can display only the selected custom list on the computer screen - making it easier to find the objects and to get the big picture of their topographical distribution across the sky.
