Can't resist for the nth+1 time paraphrasing James Turley - DDK is getting ready to rumble. Find out what Dino is like tonight.

What I'm getting right now from Wunderground and from NOAA is chance of clouds both nights, with slightly more chance of rain Sunday night. I'm sticking with Saturday now.

Right now Friday am, the NOAA forecasts Sunday to be better for clear skies than Saturday with Saturday being partly cloudy all day and into the night.  By Sunday it is forecast to be totally clear, the only clear day for the week.  I might decide to get out on Sunday night up at the Peak for a few hours.  I'll decide on Dino by Saturday noon.

yup, gonna be camping in Mojave Friday and Saturday, and star gazing, weather allowing, at the Black Canyon Group Camp near Hole in the Wall.

After the geology, do look up at night. It's supposed to be dark in Death Valley. Yes and be safe, Dan.

Here's a 5.7 hour LRGB of the Shark Nebula LDN1235, a molecular cloud with interestingly-shaped dust in Cepheus that includes two reflection nebula, VdB 149 and 150.

Pretty scary.

Sounds good.  I'd come, except that I'm going to Death Valley this weekend -- not really to observe, but to tool around in my 4wd and see the geology.  Have a good one at Dino.

You'll only see an OI from a gatekeeper here if it's certain that we're gonna be there. So you can rest assured of leaving, once you're there.

One gatekeeper will definitely be there, me.

has everything you need to know. It's pretty simple, just show up before dark. Beautiful spot, seriously dark, cordial people go there.
See you in the dark,

TAC Imaging / image test.

this is a test, only a test.  someone reported problems uploading images here.   I present a crappy crescent moon, probably shot with a DSLR at prime focus of a C80 (Vixen 80mm achromat) about 5 years ago...
