Lake San Antonio reopens!
« on: March 29, 2017, 09:14:12 PM »
heard on the teevee news (KSBW) last night that LSA has reopened, weekends for now, and 7 days/week in may.

does this mean CalStar might move back to LSA, or is it likely to stay at Whisper Canyon?

We're already booked for Whiisssper Canyon, 20-24 September. We needed to book weeks ago. At that time Lake San Antonio was still dithering about whether they'd open at all, much less when.

Beth Winters and I did a chunk of work to see if we could have a spring gathering at LSA, got nowhere with them.

The official closing date for LSA is still one week before our event, so we need to use Whisper Canyon. That date may change, but we need to get a firm commitment from the park that we can actually hold the event before we can plan on going back, and at this point they're unwilling to commit to anything.

Are there people here who miss the outhouse rides?

Does that mean
3 nights or does the 24th count (aka 4 nights)?

4 nights, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Last year a small set of folks stayed Sunday night, that might be an option this year. Might. Maybe. New Moon is on the Tuesday night.

4 nights is great.  I am curious, why not 9/16 start, depart 9/20 - putting the event starting between 3rdQ and NM, with more dark each night?  As is, every night the young moon is up later through the event.

The only real risk is, earlier in Sept means potential for hotter days.  I'm going to do my best to make it this year.  Lots of people I haven't seen in ages.

Wags, set yourself up in a seance with the Potentate, he can tell you all about the planning and dates.

And yes come on along, close to 100% chance you have a real good time. And there's lots of music in the daytime, from such stars as Casey, Marko, Chez Dan Dan and DDK. All known by first names.

While looking for the CalStar web-page, I happened across this.  Who's bringing the wine (is it allowed?)?
