Saturday the 3rd I spent the day at Whiisssper Canyon helping out with various chores. The camping and observing and eating areas were untouched by the fire. Took major work by over 100 firefighters. What we were doing Saturday was hauling brush, general cleanup.
The Chimney Fire is gone from the area. The camp is ready for CalStar already at this point. Natscher and Pierce in particular, you good fellas can take a breath and relax, further pessimism is superfluous.
What is touching as you drive thru the hamlets of Hesperia and Bryson, signs everywhere along the road from people thanking the CalFire people for saving their homes.
