That was fun last year! Lets do it again!!
(Details to follow, anyone with edit privs, feel free to jump in!)
New Moon is on the 4th at 5:34pm PDT.
CalStar is a pure observing event, there's no services on site except porta potties and water, and the dark skies of southern Monterey County, in a dry protected bowl. We camp in an overflow area of Lake San Antonio South Shore facilities. No vendors, no public night, no green laser pointers :)
There's a lot of useful info on the CalStar pages from the previous years, http://old.observers.org/CalStar/
This year is number XIV. The gathering of the astro tribes.
A perfect end-of-summer gathering.
